An interview with Mrs. Sohl and her children

Mia Sweeney

Last week, many teachers participated in one of their favorite days of the year, Bring Your Child to Work Day. Below is an interview with three of Mrs. Sohl’s children, who were ecstatic to be here.

Mrs. Sohl’s Children- Charlie, Helen, and Henry

What’s your favorite subject in school?
Charlie: I don’t know what a subject is. Art.
Helen: Books, social studies
Henry: I like reading.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Charlie: I haven’t figured that out yet.
Helen: Librarian or nurse
Henry: Social studies teacher

What’s your favorite color?
Charlie: All of them.
Helen: All of them.
Henry: Purple

What are you doing today?
Charlie: We’re helping our mom at her job.
Henry: We printed something on a 3D printer!

How are you helping your mom?
Charlie: By moving chairs.
Henry: I’m helping do the staff meeting stuff.

Mrs. Sohl, what are the challenges of working with your kids?

I think making sure that they’re engaged in having fun, but that it’s not taking away from my job of helping the students.

What are the rewards of having your kid(s) at work?
I think it’s a good experience for them, to be exposed to another environment and to see what high school is like.
