Winter Sports Preview: Bowling

Gabby Maletto and Monica Viola

The 2015-2016 Bowling season at Shore has started and we talked to Coach Cosentino to find out what he likes most about coaching the sport and some of the team’s goals for the season. “It’s a lot less stressful than coaching football,” says Coach Cos. The captains for the girls are Lauren Murphy and Abby Alrt, and for the boys there is no captain decided yet as they are all mostly freshman on the team.

When we asked Coach Cos what was the goal for the 2015-2016 season he said, “We’re always looking to improve as the year goes on.  We have a young team right now as far as the boys.  The girls are 5-3 right now and I’m really happy with that. Lauren Murphy is one of the strongest players in the sport. The thing with bowling is it’s easy to see improvement as time goes on. We have fun…I’ve been coaching it for 12 years now.” If anyone wants to head out to a match to support the Devils, both the girls and boys will be up against Red Bank Regional at Harmony Bowl in Middletown on Monday, December 14th. It seems like the outlook for the team is positive and we wish them the best for a great season to both the boys and girls!
