Future Educators Alliance (FEA) assembled a turkey with feathers made out of students’ praise for their teachers. Students all over Shore were asked to write down something they were thankful for about a teacher on a colored piece of paper that resembles a feather. The feathers are presented on the bulletin board near the front entrance of the school, coming together to form a huge turkey that expresses Shore’s gratitude for the teachers.

The Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) is a presented a display for LGBTQ history month in October.    

Interact is doing a supply drive for the Alexander Munoz Memorial Fund to fulfill the 2017 Teen Wish List. The teens in the oncology units of Children’s Hospital Of Philadelphia, Valerie Center at Monmouth Medical Center, and K. Hovnanian Children’s Center and JSUMC desire a wide array of products from technology to board games to clothing. Interact has been involved with the memorial fund for several years and sponsors a supply drive for the hospital around the holidays.

Students for Animal Welfare (SAW) recently made snuffle mats for the SPCA in Eatontown. The mats are used to help the dogs search for their food to promote activity. They are composed of soft felt and rubber mats that are weaved together to produce a fun and engaging activity for the animals in the shelter.

Surfrider collected K-ups between November and December 4. The collected K-cups were properly recycled. The mission is to reduce the amount of waste that enters the marine environment. According to adviser, Mrs. McMahon, the club plans on “offering more recycling challenges throughout the year.”

Students are encouraged to join the Computer Science Club! Advisor Ms. McGowan will teach you how to code, build apps, and design video games in addition to working together to build advanced projects. The club is aiming to be active in December with meetings every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month in room E7. Students with any level of experience are welcome. Learn a new skill or develop current skills in a world that revolves around technology. The club recently had their first hour of code session in which they ate snacks and made apps on the computer.

The French Club sold authentic French pastries the week of the 13th for National French Week. The fresh pastries were sold for $2 to benefit the French Club.

The Model UN club had its first event of the 2017-2018 school year from November 30-December 3 in New Brunswick. “More than 1200 high school students from the tri-state area will represent the nations of the world as they try to create resolutions to address global problems.  Seven Shore students attended this event: six represented the nation of Belgium in General Assembly committees, and one represented the nation of Japan on the Security Council.” said club advisor Mrs. Ensor.
