Shore science faculty members, Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Fagen, represented Shore’s science department at the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) conference in Philadelphia from November 12 to November 14th.  The teachers attended in an effort to learn about new technology, texts, techniques, and standards for teaching science.  Attendee Mrs. Cook shared the positives of attending the conference. “This convention was very well executed.  It was a great way to investigate a ton of new ways to teach scientific topics within our curriculum here at Shore.”

The annual conference, one of several held throughout the country each year, aims to offer teachers the latest in science content, teaching strategy and research through presentations, speakers, and hands-on workshops.  Attendee Mrs. Fagen enjoyed her experience as well, and found it to be extremely beneficial to her instruction.  “It was great to meet with other science teachers and the science companies. It enabled us to learn about the latest technology available and the best teaching practices being used by other schools, so that we could bring all that we learned and experienced back to Shore for our students.”
