Opinion: Good move for the Rams

The St. Louis Rams have decided to move to Los Angeles due to the growing desire for a football return to the city. This is pivotal for the future of football. The move generates a lot of money for the Rams and not many are questioning it. For the other teams involved in the move, the Raiders and the Chargers, they may both move away. The Chargers are likely to move to LA, while the Raiders can move, but are unlikely to. Many are unsure of what the teams will do, but everyone should find out soon.

I agree with the decision of the Rams in moving away. Albeit the town has been loyal to their football team, St.Louis is no competition for Los Angeles when compared to football. I believe that the Rams should be the only team to move. The San Diego Chargers are two hours away from Los Angeles, but the move costs $500 million for the Rams. This move may seem smart for the fans, but being in debt for a football team is never great.

For another California team, the Oakland Raiders, the move also may not be the smartest thing to do. Even though there is a far distance between Oakland and Los Angeles, with 6 hours between the areas, the main problem with the move for the Oakland Raiders is the fans. Many fans are strongly opposed to the Raiders moving back to Los Angeles. With Pro-Oakland chants, the league would have a tough time moving the Raiders without a fight by the fans. Another problem is the league faces many owners against the Raiders’ move, therefore, the move is nearly impossible. To conclude, there are too many problems for the Chargers and Raiders, but the move is clearly smart for the Rams.
