Spring sports are upon us once again, so as the athletes on the Shore girls lacrosse team train for another season, likely the same thing will happen again: The rest of the Shore Conference will overlook them, and then the Lady Blue Devils will make them eat their words by winning the Sectional Finals again, as the whole conference stares in disbelief. Shore will enter 2016 with a lot to prove, having graduated stars such as Lauren Britton (Bryant), and Emily Olsen (Army). It will be the Shore attack will be what drives them to success, as Allie Reiser, as well as Ohio State-bound sisters Sarah and Mary Kate George, will lead the Shore offense. Their combination of speed and dodging ability should lead to many goal celebration for Shore in 2016.
Shore’s defensive situation is also solid, with Shannon Bonner and Kaitilyn Hunter leading Shore’s effort to shut down the top offenses in the state. Although Shore graduated goalie Sarah Giordano, they will have 2 solid netminders in Molly Santi and Jillian Olsen. With the 1-2 punch of the Santi and Olsen, Shore should be just fine between the pipes. As Shore hopes to avenge their loss in the Group Finals, they will look not just to start out strong, but to finish strong as well.
