On Tuesday, April 19th, Apple released a set of updates to it’s ultra-thin and light laptop line, including an extra hour of battery life, newer processors, better graphics card, and faster flash storage. The 12-inch MacBook model starts at $1,299 and now comes with the latest 1.1 GHz Intel core m3 processor and 256GB of flash storage. The MacBook now has up to 11 hours of battery life, which is more than the MacBook air and an hour less than the 13-inch model. Apple started selling the new laptops on its website on the 19th, and they just came out in stores on Wednesday, April 20th. The only physical difference between this year’s MacBook and last year’s model is the new rose gold color option, marking the first time such a color has been used and available on a Mac product. The resolution screen is nearly as dazzling as the notebook’s design. Reviews on CNN Monday have noted that having such a sharp and colorful screen providing rich colors and viewing angles makes the experience of using this laptop to show photos a beautiful experience. Apple revamped the keyboard with a new butterfly mechanism that says its 40% thinner than the scissor mechanism used on most traditional keyboards. Another new feature includes Apple’s new Force Touch trackpad, which allows users to access certain shortcuts by pressing down harder on the touch area. The device still weighs the same at a very light 2 pounds and is 13.1 millimeters thin. It still has a retina display on a 12-inch screen and a single USB Type-C port for fast syncing and charging.
