Meet our September Student of the Month: Mary Kate George
October 24, 2016
Name: Mary Kate George
Grade: 11
Role Model: My sister Sarah is my role model because she can never be satisfied and is always working hard to achieve her next goal. She sets her sights really high and does not stop until she gets there.
Teacher with the most impact: Mrs. Koontz is another one of my role models and is my favorite teacher so far. Mrs. Koontz was my freshman year English teacher. Freshman year can be scary and she was always smiling and reassuring me when I got stressed. Mr. Labush’s class had the most influence on me as a person. In his English class we learned about life and purpose through great books. It made me question the world around me in a way I had never before and it forced me to form my own opinions.
Activities: Class President, Huddle leader (FCA), Cross Country, Winter Track, Lacrosse, The Beacon
Future Goals/Plans: In two years after I graduate from Shore Regional I will go The Ohio State University to play lacrosse. I would like to major in psychology or possibly criminal justice. I hope to have a family and live in the Shore Regional area. I hope to be happy in whatever I end up doing.
Personal Quote: “If it’s meant to be, it will be.”
