Meet our January Student of the Month: Rebecca Brown
February 14, 2017
Name: Rebecca Brown
Grade: 12
Role Model: My role models are both of my parents. They continuously push me and motivate me to do my best and are always there whenever I need their help. They inspire me to be a loyal, honest, hardworking, respectable and caring person inside and out. I am forever thankful for both of my parents because without their love and support I would not be the person I am today.
Teacher with the most impact: The teachers that have had the most impact on me throughout high school are Mrs. Ross and Mr. Santangelo. Mrs. Ross has been there for me since my freshmen year of high school. She helped me realize that poetry can be an amazing outlet, and because of her, I had two poems published. Mr. Santangelo was my freshman year biology teacher and he made me realize that science is my true passion. Every day in his classroom was an amazing learning experience and he could answer any question that a student had. Both Mrs. Ross and Mr. Santangelo genuinely care about each of their students and make sure that we understand what they’re teaching.
Activities: I am involved in the National Honor Society as a Tutoring Chairman, Students for Animal Welfare, and I am a manager for the Wrestling Team.
Future Goals/Plans: After I graduate, I plan on attending the University of South Carolina, College of Pharmacy and obtaining a PharmD. I hope to end up working in a pharmaceutical company making new and improved pharmaceutical drugs, and ultimately finding a cure to Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Sinus, which is what my grandfather passed away from a year and a half ago..
