On February 6th, Americans eagerly turned to their television for one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the season : SuperBowl Sunday. Whether at the stadium or at home, nearly 111.1 million viewers gathered to celebrate the biggest night of football. Besides the big game, however, there is one performance in particular that garnered the interest of viewers. The Super Bowl Halftime show attracts many of the non-football fans to the screen and provides 13 minutes of added entertainment. Whether it is actually entertaining or not usually depends on the act. This year’s headliner was one to go down in the books.

Lady Gaga took to the stage for this year’s half-time show, and the crowd’s response was overall positive. Starting with “God Bless America” and “This Land is Your Land”, Gaga opened with quite the patriotic rendition and was accompanied by projected stars, courtesy of Intel drones. The popstar, attached to a harness, gracefully descended down to the main stage. With that, she began her montage of all her No. 1 hits. From “Poker Face” to “Born This Way” and “Just Dance”, the crowd roared with excitement at the beginning of each classic. And to add to her star-studded vocals, Gaga managed to dance her way through several choreographer numbers and a quick change.

Most nationwide feedback was positive. With tweets from celebrities to even Hillary Clinton, fans weighed in with anticipation for the singer’s performance. It was also reported that this year’s halftime show ranks the second most watched in history. Along with this achievement, Ms. Gaga has made her way to the top of Billboard’s Artist 100 chart, as the No. 1 artist along with her single Million Reasons jumping to  the No. 4 spot. Needless to say, Mother Monster definitely gave the nation a show they’ll never forget.
