On Thursday April 27th, the community of Shore Regional High School welcomed the children and grandchildren of the teaching staff to our school on national Bring Your Child to Work Day. The teacher’s children brought plenty of enjoyment and laughs to school, and brightened everyone’s day. Mrs. Mooney, one of the gym teachers here at Shore, was joined by her two daughters, Shaylean and McKayla, on Thursday. Mrs. Mooney was thrilled with how the day turned out and was glad to show her daughters how great of a gym teacher she is. Although she looks forward to this day each year, Mrs. Mooney says that she wishes there could be a Bring Your Kids to Work Day three times a year so this way she could show her daughters how great her job really is, and also so she could bring them in September when the year starts and they are already asking when they can come to work with her next time.

Mrs. Mooney says her favorite part of the day was witnessing a different side to some of her students. There were many students who went out of there way to be nice to her daughters which she found very sweet. This kind interaction brought a smile to her face and made her Bring Your Child to Work Day even better.

The only challenge Mrs. Mooney faced was when she had to teach a health class and was not able to allow her daughters to sit in during that block. The information she would be covering in Health was not appropriate for her two young daughters and instead she had to send them to the art room to paint with some of the other children.

Overall, Bring Your Child to Work Day was a fun filled day at Shore Regional. For Mrs. Mooney and her daughters, Shaylean and McKayla, the day is something they look forward to all year long and are already looking forward to next year.
