The annual sophomore carnival at Shore, sponsored by the class of 2019, was held earlier this month.

On Saturday, May 6 from 10 am to 3 pm, the sophomore class set up shop at the West Long Branch Community Center, just down the road from Shore. The event featured raffles, games (some involving live goldfish, not typical for high school carnivals!), prizes, face painting, arts and crafts, and more. The theme was “Superheroes of Shore”, as seen on the fliers which adorn Shore’s halls. The advertisement features a sketch of Superman personalized for the sophomore class.

Participating students were mostly involved in the big wheel, fish bowl game, nail painting, ring toss, and helping to set up the many attractions. Many people donated to fund the carnival, but the class of 2019 played a big part in fundraising through the sale of raffle tickets.

According to sophomore class advisor Mrs. DiFede, there were about twenty-five students involved in the carnival, and the money raised will help to defray the costs of yearbooks and senior prom in the coming years.
