On October 18th, Shore Regional’s Student Council hosted their annual “Senior Spaghetti Pasta Dinner” for local senior citizens. Senior citizens from Oceanport Gardens, Peter Cooper Village and the senior groups of Sea Bright and Monmouth Beach were in attendance this year.

The event was hosted in the front cafeteria and students worked tirelessly to transform the space so as to reflect this year’s “Fall Festive” theme, one which was happily received and enjoyed by all who attended.

Student Council members prepared a delicious meal complete with pasta, meatballs, fresh bread, as well a salad appetizer. Refreshments and desserts were served towards the end of the evening while senior citizens enjoyed a lively game of BINGO. Co-advisor Ms. Cronk said of the event, “What made this year most successful was introducing BINGO for the first time which the seniors loved playing while they ate items from the dessert buffet. The students loved setting the game up and the seniors loved playing it.” Participants played to win donated prizes.

Ms. Cronk and co-advisor Mrs. Ross, along with members of the Student Council, look forward to this event every year as it is a meaningful way to connect with and give back to their local communities.
