Assistant Principal Mr.Bruccoleri begins his fourth year at Shore Regional as the 2019-2020 school year unfolds. Describing his role as the “jack of all trades but master of none”, Mr.B explained that he takes on and shares various roles throughout the school, though his official title acknowledges his responsibility for discipline and attendance. While we all know Mr.Bruccoleri, he was not always the Mr.B that we know today.

As an avid surfer growing up, Mr.Bruccoleri was set on majoring in marine biology.

However, after volunteering during his senior year of high school at Little House Day Care Center in Red Bank, he found himself drawn to working with children – specifically those with special needs. It was because of this that he decided to pursue a career in special education. Mr.Bruccoleri began his path to teaching at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. He taught special education in elementary and middle school along with coaching (basketball, soccer, and baseball), being the director of technology, and the athletic director all before being appointed Vice Principal.

Although he never saw himself working in a high school he is in fact happy with his current position. “I love the school and I love the admin team. The kids aren’t bad either”, he jests. Despite beginning his educational career in Avon, Mr.B claims that there is something a little bit different about Shore Regional. “You walk around the halls and the kids are smiling. They are saying hello, they are saying good morning.” Although Mr.B sometimes has to deal with the tough reality of his job, he loves watching students grow and change throughout their time at Shore. Another highlight of Mr.Bruccoleri’s role at Shore Regional are the annual events that take place-Battle of the Classes, IB Art Night, and the Senior Walk to name a few. Mr.Bruccoleri’s favorite event: Veteran’s Day. Mr.B loves to witness the interaction between veterans and students.

While Mr. B. states he hopes to have more patience with his three young sons at home, student advisory member, RJ Schroeder describes Mr.Bruccoleri as a confident and patient leader. “Mr.B really takes into consideration the students’ opinions. He tries his best to create relationships with the students… especially those who have a difficult time opening up.” As the 2019-2020 school years advances, we are happy to have Mr.B guiding us towards a brighter future.
