On September 3rd, 2015, the Six Flags franchise released the new batch of attractions coming to the parks during the summer of 2016. Six Flags Great Adventure, located in Jackson, New Jersey, will be getting its thirteenth roller coaster: a 4D free-flying roller coaster. What that means is that the seats are on the sides of the track and will flip riders upside down when they go over a hill. Riders will go up a 90 degree lift hill, 120 feet up in the air. Once riders reach the top, they will start to flip head-over-heels over a small amount of air-time hills Total Mayhem has to offer. Riders free-fall down two beyond 90-degree raven drops. A raven drop is a half loop followed by a drop.

Throughout the course of the ride, riders will experience at least six weightless flips. Total Mayhem’s tracks will be orange, red, and black. Total Mayhem will be located on the man-made lake in the “Lakefront” section of the park. Each train will seat eight riders and there will be five trains.

Personally, I find the new roller coaster a great fit for the park. It is the first new roller coaster Great Adventure has gotten since 2006. On the other hand, others don’t approve of the new addition. Their reasoning for not liking it is because the ride is too short and they feel like it doesn’t fit in with the other rides Great Adventure has to offer.
