About a couple weeks ago, my friends and I decided to try a new place for our Friday night dinner plans. I tried to think of something new because I had grown tired of fast food, so one of the restaurants that came to mind was Houlihan’s. Located in Eatontown, New Jersey, Houlihan’s offers simplistic fare with a wide range of dining options. An American Restaurant that serves quality food and drink, it has just under 100 locations primarily throughout the Midwest and the eastern United States.

Pulling up to the restaurant in the early hours of the evening, my eyes were met with dim lighting and a clean appearance. The ambiance was light and friendly, and we were immediately met with excellent service upon entering the eatery. We were seated pretty quickly by the staff, and were given menus to choose what we were going to order that night. Our waitress was very attentive and came back frequently to our table to see if we needed anything.

The pricing ranged from fairly reasonable to a little expensive, as it would not be a place I would go on a daily basis. The range of pricing went from $10-$30, with the highest priced food being steak or lobster dishes. I had decided to order the soup and salad combo, as it seemed to be the most reasonable and the selections for soup sounded delicious. I chose French Onion Soup for the start and a house salad.

Service did not take that long to bring the food to the table and in no time I had my dinner. What was really great about getting the salad was the baked rolls that came with the meal. These rolls were fresh out of the oven and had a warm, moist doughy consistency with a perfect balance of a sweet and salty flavor. The soup was tangy and the taste of onion was not too overpowering. It tasted homemade.  

Some of the specials that take place each Friday night include drink and appetizer specials that start at $5, which are part of the “Happy Hour App.” Houlihan’s is open from 11:00am to 2:00am Monday through Saturday and open on Sunday from 11:00am to 12:00am. It has a four star rating on Google Reviews and you would not be disappointed to try this for your next dinner out.
