In December, Beijing ordered its first red alert due to the poor air quality, however, a British entrepreneur, Leo De Watts, is cashing in on the crisis by selling bottled air for $115 per bottle. One 20 ounce bottle of air only lasts for a few seconds, and most people open the jars in their homes or keep the bottles in their homes in preparation for the air quality to become even poorer. Watts has sold hundreds of containers of air from places in England including Dorset, Somerset, and Wales under his company called Aethaer. People can specify where they want their air from and if they prefer air from mountain tops or in a valley. Aethaer is not the first company to sell bottled air. In fact, the first company, Vitality Air, is a Canadian company that sells air for $14 to $20 per bottle.
