Saturday, November 3rd, the Cross Country team headed up to Thompson Park in Jamesburg, their eyes set on a Sectional title. After a long night of rain, the course was wet and muddy. The boys race, including athletes Cameron Janovic, Robert Weeden, Stephen Quattrochi, Ryan Costello, Rory Maher, Nolan Loehr, and Stephen Myer, went off at 10:25. The boys team toed the line with the title in their minds. Janovic, leading from the start and never looking back, placed 1st with a time of 16:57. After him, Weeden came in 4th, Quattrochi in 14th,  Costello in 16th, and Maher in 18th. With a combined score of 53 points, the boys team was able to secure a team victory by 8 points, breaking a four year losing streak.

The girls race, including Pari Walter, Alyssa Costello, Krissy Birdsall, Sasha Jarvis, Bell Decker, Maeve Murphy, and Holly George, went off at 11:15. From the gun, Walter, Costello, and Birdsall ran together, passing through the first mile in 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The race began to string out towards the end. Coming through the final straight away, Walter and Costello were able to secure 3rd and 4th place finished. Birdsall coming in right behind them placed 7th. Jarvis came in 11th and Decker placed 18th. With a combined score of 32, the girls team was also able to snag the team title for the first time in four years. Both teams came home with first place medals and a plaque.
